Freedom

What does freedom mean to you? Throughout my years, freedom has had many faces. Some of my earlier impressions of freedom involved the absence of physical bondage, but now freedom is so much more than that.

The ability to make a decision and not feel like I’ve let my loved ones or those individuals looking up to me down, that’s freedom.

The acceptance of my emotions, regardless of how different they may be from my ideal self, that’s freedom.

The ability to separate my beliefs from those who’ve had great influence over me, that’s freedom.

In many ways, I’m not free, I have yet to experience internal freedom. I live in a free state and I am no one’s prisoner…but at the core, I’m a prisoner to myself

I don’t allow myself to live, truly live and enjoy life in the process.

I am often so busy trying to be this or that, achieve a through z, or live up to other people’s expectations of me that I fail to be free.

Freedom, a powerful word with incredible imagery

I don’t strive for perfection, I strive for freedom.

  1. Sir Winston, from our blog “Gilmours Nice Place”, says that in his opinion, many human beings don´t really seem to want to live with genuine “freedom” because true “freedom” requires self-responsibility and that is something many shy away from in our fast-paced, superficial world. Indeed, self-responsibility can sometimes be hard work.
Mr Midnight adds that when things are on the up and up, living “in freedom” is easy, but when the chips are down, realiance upon the State or others becomes apparent and the “victimhood” modus raises its ugly head.
I believe that freedom is a necessity but something in its purest form, that is far away from reality.
Still, there´s no reason why we can´t attempt to live in freedom is there.
Meow , purr purr and kind regards from the three of us. 🙂
